Benefits of Yoga and Meditation
“Yoga is not just doing some exercise, it is much more. It is to expand your awareness, sharpen your intellect and enhance your intuitive ability.”
— Sri Sri Ravi Shankar
Yoga is truly for everyone. Female or male, old or young, flexible or stiff, these really do not matter to start yoga.
The most important thing when you practice Asanas( Hatha yoga ) is your breathing and focused mind.
Origin of Yoga comes from the Sanskrit word yuj, which means “yoke” or “union,” and
Yoga unifies the body and mind through the breath.
When you practice asanas (Hatha Yoga ) The two energies, “The Sun energy =Ha ”and “The moon energy =Ta” are joining together, (yoke) and balancing these two energies. Hatha means ‘force’ and is more traditionally defined as ‘the yoga of force’.
Through the practice of yoga postures, breathing, meditation, and awareness, we can balance the opposite energies of the body/mind (sun and moon) and create union (Yoga ).
The physical benefits of yoga reduce stress, revitalize the systems of the body, strengthen, increase flexibility and vitality.
Yoga and Meditation are holistic approaches to increase your balance and concentration, it also gives you clarity and calms the mind and reduce your anxiety. Yoga enables you to maintain perfect health and tap the infinite source of vital power lying latent within you.
Once you gain the knowledge and experience of yoga, take your yoga mat and practice yoga at home, park or anywhere available. Asanas (Hatha yoga practice) and pranayama (the breathing exercise) are a wonderful practice to not only improve your health but also help to purify your body and mind.
The one important thing is your yoga practice is not only happening on your yoga mat,
It is happening in your daily life. Spirituality is mystic and draws you a lot of interests, however, we can not separate the material world and the spiritual world. It is all connected.
Yoga is a way of your lifestyle itself.
To begin yoga, all you need to start yoga is comfortable outfits and a yoga mat. A long time ago in India, people were enjoying yoga even there was no yoga mat or nice outfits. It was just with a cotton mat!
